Conferențiar universitar la disciplina de Pneumologie din cadrul Facultății de Medicină, UMF „Victor Babeș” Timișoara, și șef secție clinică universitară Pneumologie II, Spitalul Clinic de Boli Infecțioase și Pneumoftiziologie „Dr. Victor Babeș” Timișoara. Absolvent al Facultății de Medicină din Timișoara s-a specializat tot la UMF „Victor Babeș” inițial în Medicină Internă și apoi în Pneumologie.
Expertiză în explorarea funcțională pulmonară complexă și testarea cardio-pulmonară la efort dobândită prin participarea la programe de formare în cadrul Laboratorul de Fiziopatologie Respiratorie, Institutul de Pneumologie „Prof.dr. Preocupări pentru patologia pulmonară interstițială și hipertensiunea pulmonară fiind promotorul certificării de către MS a primului Centru de Expertiză pentru Boli Pulmonare Rare din România în cadrul Spitalului de Boli Infecțioase și Pneumoftiziologie „Dr. Victor Babeș” Timișoara si membru din partea României in Comitetul de Management al Actiunii COST CA 16125 „European network for translational research in children’s and adult interstitial lung disease”, acronim ENTeR-chILD. Persoana responsabilă cu desfășurarea întâlnirilor on-line ale board-ul multidisciplinar de diagnostic al pneumopatiilor interstițiale difuze din centrul universitar Timișoara cu medicii din zonele arondate, inițiate în contextul pandemic actual.
În calitate de director al Centrului de Cercetare și Inovare în Medicina Personalizată a Bolilor Respiratorii recunoscut de către UMF „Victor Babeș” în competiția din anul 2020 ca și Centru de Cercetare Avansata a inițiat un proiect de monitorizare la distanță a bolnavilor cu patologie pulmonară obstructivă severă.

Sunt medic primar pneumolog din anul 2012. Pe parcursul anilor am obtinuț competențe în endoscopie bronșică, explorări funcționale, somnologie și homeopatie clinică.
Sunt formator și auditor în domeniul calității. În anul 2018 am obținut atestatul în Managementul serviciilor de sănătate și funcția de Director Medical al Institutului Marius Nasta. Desfășor activitate didactică de mai bine de 10 ani la Colegiul Romano – Catolic “Sfântul Iosif”, învățământ postliceal sanitar.

Carlo Vancheri is a full Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Catania, Sicily, Italy. He is Director of the “Regional Centre for Rare Lung Diseases” and the Laboratory of “Experimental Respiratory Medicine”, as well as of the PhD course in “Translational Biomedicine”. He is currently working at the University – Hospital “Policlinico G. Rodolico – San Marco”, Catania, Italy. Since 2019 he is Director of the Postgraduate School of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Catania. Professor Vancheri obtained his medical degree and postgraduate degree in Respiratory Diseases from the School of Medicine of the University of Catania, and received his PhD in Respiratory Diseases from the University of Naples. He subsequently became a Research Fellow of the Medical Research Council of Canada, at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada. In 2013 was visiting Professor at the Diderot University in Paris, France. From 2017 to 2019 he was part of the administrative board of the University of Catania.
Professor Vancheri’s clinical interest is focused on Interstitial lung Diseases and specifically on pulmonary fibrosis. His research activities are mainly addressed to the study of the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis and the identification of new approaches in the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis.

Conf. Univ. Dr. Elena Danteș este cadru didactic din 1998 la Facultatea de Medicină din cadrul Universității „Ovidius” Constanța și medic primar pneumolog din 1991 cu competență în somnologie nivel I și II (2015), explorări funcționale respiratorii speciale (2004), management al serviciilor de sănătate (2009) și bronhologie (2000). Activitatea clinică o desfășoară la Spitalul Clinic de Pneumoftiziologie Constanța. De-a lungul carierei a avut nenumărate funcții de conducere: director medical, șef de secție, coordonator județean al PNPSCT. Este formator de opinie pentru medici rezidenți, tineri specialiști, medici de familie, asistente medicale. Este implicată în munca de cercetare fiind membru în peste 10 granturi și peste 35 studii clinice. Deține funcția de membru de onoare în diverse structuri profesionale internaționale (ERS, ACCP) și naționale (SRP și subsecțiuni).
Contribuția în dezvoltarea medicinei românești a fost recunoscută prin premii și distincții printre care putem enumera: Diploma de excelență pentru contribuția adusă la dezvoltarea endoscopiei toracice în România, Diploma de lider de opinie pentru activitatea de excepție depusă în susținerea și dezvoltarea medicinei românești, Diploma de excelență cu recunoașterea contribuției la dezvoltarea disciplinei pneumologie în România și multe multe altele.

Ulrich Costabel is Professor of Medicine at the University of Duisburg-Essen and Senior Consultant in Interstitial and Rare Lung Diseases at the Ruhrlandklinik in Essen, Germany. He was previously Chief of the Division of Pneumology and Allergology at the Ruhrlandklinik. He received his undergraduate training and his MD magna cum laude at the University of Freiburg. In 1992/1993 he spent a six-month sabbatical with Prof. Takateru Izumi at the Chest Disease Research Institute of the University of Kyoto in Japan.
Professor Costabel’s research interests lie in clinical and immunological studies in interstitial lung diseases, with a specific focus on clinical and research applications of bronchoalveolar lavage. In recent years he has acted as Principal Investigator for major clinical trials in IPF. He is President emeritus of the World Association of Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Disorders (WASOG) and organised the World Congress on Sarcoidosis in Essen in 1997. He has been Chairman of the European BAL Group since 1998 and has co-organised several International Conferences on BAL.
Professor Costabel has been actively involved with the European Respiratory Society (ERS) since its inception, having been Chair of the Occupational and Environmental Health Group and Secretary of the Assembly, and later Chair of the Bronchoalveolar Lavage Group.
From 2002–2005 he was Head of the Clinical Assembly and a member of the Executive Committee of the ERS and, in 2006, Chairman of the ERS Congress in Munich.
Since 1990 he has served on the Editorial Board of the European Respiratory Journal, from 1994–1999 as the Chief Editor. He was Editor of the German journal Pneumologie from 2001–2005, has co-edited the European Respiratory Monograph “Sarcoidosis”, and is currently on the board of Sarcoidosis, Orphanet Journal of Rare Diseases, and Current Opinion in Pulmonary Medicine, among others. He is the recipient of several honours and awards, including the Sarcoidosis Research Prize presented by the German Sarcoidosis Association and the World Sarcoidosis Person of the Year Award from the Irish Sarcoidosis Charity.

Professor Martina Vasakova graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine of Charles University in Prague. She obtained attestations from internal medicine, tuberculosis and respiratory disease, allergology and clinical immunology, specialization in bronchology and license in interventional bronchology. In 2015, she was appointed as a professor of internal medicine, and in 2016, she became the head of the Department of Pneumology at the First Faculty of Medicine Charles University and Thomayer University Hospital. She is also the President of the Committee of the Czech Pneumological and ftizeological Society, a board member of the Czech Asthma Initiative and member of the Council of Immunology at Charles University.
Professor Martina Vasakova is recognized for her contribution to education and research work in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and in hypersensitivity pneumonitis. She is also a founder and head of one of the biggest registries of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in the world, the EMPIRE registry, which offers data for clinical research of this serious lung diseases and is a platform for real-world, investigator-initiated studies in this debilitating disease. Her scientific research work focuses on interstitial lung diseases and immunopathology of lung disorders.

A participat ca lector în cadrul manifestărilor stiințifice naționale și internaționale, distinsă cu premiul de cea mai bună prezentare în cadrul conferinței inaugurale ENTeR- chILD. A participat la workshopuri internaționale dedicate bolilor interstițiale (Diffuse parenchymal lung diseases in children CORE-MEETING, Munich Training School). A publicat articole ISI și capitole de carte naționale și internaționale în domeniul PID, NIV, ecografie pulmonară, inteligență artificială.

Activez în colectivul dedicat Hipertensiunii pulmonare din Institutul « M.Nasta » de peste 15 ani si m-am implicat in domeniul patologie interstitiale pulmonare, cu precadere in evaluarea afectarii interstitiale si vasculare pulmonare in sclerodermie de peste 12 ani.
Interesul pentru patologia vasculară pulmonară a prins contur în anii rezidențiatului, ulterior maturizarea profesională a fost definitivată într-un stagiu de pregătire din Hopital « Antoine Beclere », Paris, Franta, centrul de referință național francez în Hipertensiune pulmonară, sub îndrumarea Prof. G.Simonneau, Prof. M.Humbert și Prof. O.Sitbon, între 2007 – 2008. Ulterior, între 2009 – 2010, am finalizat un Master în Patologia vasculară pulmonară, la Universitatea Bologna, Italia, sub coordonarea Prof. N.Galie.
Din 2007 am început pregătirea tezei de doctorat privind Hipertensiune Pulmonară Cronică Postembolică, teză definitivată în 2013, sub coordonarea Prof. Dr. M.Bogdan.
Sunt membru al SRP, grupul de lucru pentru HTP și al ERS. Între 2010 – 2012 am fost președinte al SRP București.

Helmut Prosch, MD works for the Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy, Medical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria. Helmut Prosch is an Associate Professor of Radiology and section chief of thoracic imaging at the Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy, Medical University of Vienna. He obtained his medical degree in 2000 from the University of Vienna. Helmut Prosch trained in Radiology at the Otto Wagner Hospital in Vienna, Austria. Before, he worked as research fellow at the Children’s Cancer research institute in Vienna. His research focuses on the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer and deep learning for the diagnosis of diffuse parenchymal lung diseases. Helmut Prosch has published more than 170 articles, reviews or book chapters and is deputy editor of European Radiology.

Dr Sara Tomassetti is currently Associate Professor of Respiratory Medicine, Head of Interventional Pulmonology Unit at Careggi University Hospital, Florence, IT. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Bologna, Italy and and completed her training in respiratory medicine at University of Modena, Italy. In May 2004, she completed a one year research fellowship to study the immunology of COPD at harvard University, Boston, MA, USA. Subsequently she specialised in interstitial lung diseases (ILD) in the regional ILD specialist centre at GB Morgagni Hospital, Forlì, IT were, she was appointed consultant physician in the Interstitial Lung Disease Unit and Interventional Pulmonology service. She is a member of the European Respiratory Society, Representative Member for ERN-LUNG group (European Network of Rare Disease) and Global IPF Network (USA).

Dr Tomassetti’s research has focused on the study of minimally invasive diagnostic techniques in interstitial lung disease. With Prof. Poletti, Forlì, Italy she has been one of the pioneer of transbronchial lung cryobiopsy in diffuse parenchymal lung diseases diagnosis.
From a clinical research perspective, she has been the primary investigator (PI) of several sponsored and investigator initiated clinical trials on diagnosis and treatemnt of ineterstiatial lung diseases and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Dr Tomassetti publishes on clinical research aspects of interstitial lung diseases and interventional pulmonology. She regularly reviews research and clinical manuscripts for international journals.

Katerina Antoniou is Associate Professor in Respiratory Medicine and Head of the Molecular and Cellular Pneumonology Laboratory at the School of Medicine, University of Crete, Greece. She is the Chair of Public Relationship Committee for the Medical School and was recently elected member of the Executive WASOG committee and Head of the ERS Assembly 12 for Interstitial lung diseases (mandate from September 2021).
Previous appointments: Co-ordinator of the 1.05 ILDs European Respiratory Society (ERS) Group (2014-2017) and ILDs Group of the Hellenic Thoracic Society (HTS, 2011-2017), Secretary of the Assembly 12 of the (ERS) and member of the ERS Science Council. In the Medical School she served as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine (2015-2017) and was the Co-ordinator & member of Public Relationship Committee of University of Crete (2016-2019).
Through all her posts she emphasised in bridging disciplines from primary to tertiary care. Her main goal is prioritizing patient-centered domains into clinical care and research and improving patients’ quality of life and functional status. Dr Antoniou’s current research focuses on the pathogenesis and treatment of Pulmonary Fibrosis while her laboratory group is evaluating alveolar macrophage phenotypes and function, mitochondrial homeostasis, oxidation status and the inflammasomes with multiple publications in the field. Her purpose is to establish translational biomarkers useful for the diagnosis and disease progression of lung fibrosis and the most recently characterised Progressive Fibrotic Phenotype.
Dr Antoniou has received two ERS Research Fellowships and has been a prominent member of the European ILD research community. Several ERS fellowships have been awarded to PhD students, members of her laboratory group, that have promoted and continued common research interests in collaboration with major institutions such as the Royal Brompton Hospital and Imperial College London.
Dr. Antoniou has authored more than 180 peer-reviewed articles (h-index 36, >4500 citations) on her main research interests in IPF, Sarcoidosis and Autoimmune Diseases. She has an increasing role in the generation of guidelines and taskforce statements. She is a member of ATS/ERS and International guidelines in IPF and PF-ILDs and co-chair of the ERS/EULAR Clinical Practice Guideline in CTD-ILDs.
She also has an active role in the provision of learning in the Respiratory Community. She was involved in the organization of several European and international conferences and seminars. In 2018 she pioneered in organizing the International Conference on Sarcoidosis and Interstitial Lung Diseases (WASOG) Conference in her home town, Heraklion.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, she participated as Chair and Speaker in several Webinars, TV documentaries and newspapers invited articles about the impact of Sars- CoV2 in Chronic Respiratory Diseases. She is part of the ERS Guidelines for COVID-19 and she is co-chairing the Follow-up ERS Statement about COVID-19. She also co-chaired several international and European Webinars for Covid-19 several national Societies from Europe, USA and Latin America, with more than 700 participants from 20 countries.

Dr. Kerri A. Johannson MD MPH FRCPC ATSF is a Pulmonary physician, Associate Professor of Medicine & Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary, and Research Director for the Interstitial Lung Disease program. Her research focuses on characterizing the relationships between the inhaled environment and the development and progression of interstitial lung diseases, as well as improving diagnostic accuracy and clinical management of patients with fibrotic lung diseases.

Michael Kreuter is Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He is Head of the Centre for Interstitial and Rare Lung Diseases, Thoraxklinik, University of Heidelberg, which is a European Reference network (ERN) certified ILD center. Furthermore, he is a principal investigator of the German Centre for Lung research. Michael Kreuter is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonology and haematology-oncology. Following a clinical fellowship in Muenster, Germany and a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School Boston, USA, he is working at the Thoraxklinik since 2005. His clinical and scientific interest focuses on interstitial and rare lung diseases. He is conducting various research projects on comorbidities, epidemiology, biomarkers and diagnosis and therapy of interstitial lung diseases.
He is also committed to educational programmes – in this regard he will host again the ERS ILD schools in 2021.

Francesco Bonella is Associate Professor of Medicine and Head of the Division for Interstitial and Rare Lung Disease, Department of Pneumology at the Ruhrlandklinik University Hospital in Essen, Germany. His research interests include IPF, autoimmune ILD, pulmonary alveolar proteinosis and sarcoidosis with a special focus on biomarkers, genetic predisposition and applications of bronchoalveolar lavage.
He has acted as an investigator for major clinical trials in IPF, sarcoidosis and pulmonary alveolar proteinosis. He is Editorial Board member of the European Respiratory Journal, Chest and Associate Editor of Respirology. He has authored many chapters in textbooks, original articles, case reports, editorials and reviews. He is Chair of the ERS Rare DPLD Group and co-founded EuPAPNet, the European Network for pulmonary alveolar proteinosis. He is Steering Committee Member of the European Reference Network ERN-LUNG and Scientific Advisory Board past Chair of European Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and Related Disorders Federation (EUIPFF).
Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark
Elisabeth Bendstrup is a pulmonary physician, senior consultant and professor at the Department of Respiratory Diseases and Allergy at Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark. She is responsible for the Center for Rare Lung Diseases, a tertiary referral centre for ILD, sarcoidosis and other rare lung diseases and member of ERN lung.
Dr. Bendstrup obtained her medical degree at Odense University and completed her postgraduate training in respiratory medicine at Aarhus University Hospital. She obtained a PhD in respiratory medicine at Aarhus University.
Dr Bendstrup’s research interests include epidemiology in ILDs and connective-tissue-diseases-associated ILDs, quality of life in ILDs, rehabilitation, and treatment of IPF and other ILDs.
